Privacy Policy — Innovations Project Timeline (IPT)
Innovations Project Timeline (“IPT”) is an add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint that builds project timelines and Gantt charts on your slides. It is published by Imagination Innovations LLC, a California limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the IPT add-in in PowerPoint on Windows, Mac and the web, and its pages at innovations-project-timeline.com.
Your plan stays in your presentation. Task names, dates, owners, notes and every other part of a plan are stored inside the PowerPoint file, on the slide they belong to. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. We see your information only if you choose to send it to us — a support email, or feedback — or, once paid plans are available, the minimum needed to check your licence.
1. What stays in your presentation or on your device
- Your plan: tasks, milestones, dates, dependencies, swimlanes, owners, resources, notes and links.
- Chart settings: theme, layout, labels and timescale.
- Add-in preferences, and any star rating you give, kept in your browser’s local storage for the add-in.
- A short log of the last ten errors the add-in met, kept on your device so you can attach it to a bug report. It is never sent unless you choose to include it in an email to us.
Whoever you share the presentation with can see the plan inside it, as with any other slide content. You control that, not us. You can delete preferences by clearing site data for the add-in in your browser or Office.
2. What the add-in loads from the internet
To run inside PowerPoint, the add-in loads its own program files from our website and loads Microsoft’s Office JavaScript library from Microsoft. As with any web request, these servers receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and operating-system type, and the time of the request. Our hosting provider may keep short-lived server logs of these requests for security and reliability. None of these requests contain your plan.
Microsoft runs PowerPoint and the Office add-in platform, and may collect diagnostic data about Office under its own privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
3. What you choose to send us

Support email is opened in your own email program, so you see exactly what is sent before you send it. Only attach a slide if you are comfortable sharing its content with us.
4. Paid licences
IPT has a free version and paid plans. When paid plans are available, you sign in with the Microsoft work or school account you already use in Office. To check which plan you have, the add-in sends a sign-in token to our licence service, which confirms your identity with Microsoft and returns your plan. For this we receive and keep:
- your name, email address, and the Microsoft account and organisation identifiers in the token;
- your plan, its status and renewal date.
Your plan content is never part of a licence check. If you buy through Microsoft Marketplace or Microsoft AppSource, Microsoft is the seller and processes the payment, and tells us which organisation bought the licence and which plan. If we offer direct purchase, a payment processor named at checkout handles the payment. We never see or store your full card number.
5. Advertising
IPT does not currently show advertising. We may in future show advertising in the free version. If we do, we will update this policy before that version reaches you. The update will say which provider is used, what it receives and what choices you have. Paid plans will not show advertising. Your plan content will never be passed to an advertising provider.
6. How we use information, and the legal bases
- To answer support requests and feedback — our legitimate interest in supporting the product, or steps you ask for.
- To provide and verify a paid licence — performance of our contract with you or your organisation.
- To keep the service secure and comply with law, tax and accounting duties — legal obligation and legitimate interest.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your information to train artificial-intelligence models.
7. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run IPT for us: website hosting, email, and, for paid plans, Microsoft and any payment processor. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to a successor if the business is transferred. We share nothing else.
8. How long we keep it
- Support emails and feedback: up to 3 years after the last message, then deleted.
- Licence records: for as long as the licence is active, then for the period that tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs: no more than 90 days.
9. Security
We serve the add-in and these pages over HTTPS, and limit access to the information we hold. Because your plan lives in your presentation, the protection that matters most is the security of the file and where you store it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
IPT is a business tool for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its use. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. To use any of them, write to us at the address below; we may need to confirm your identity. We will reply within the time the law requires.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. The categories we may collect are identifiers and communications you send us, and, for paid plans, commercial information about your licence. They are used only for the purposes in section 6.
EEA, UK and Switzerland: Imagination Innovations LLC is the controller. Information is processed in the United States, and where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Cookies and similar technology
The add-in sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage only to remember your preferences and ratings on your own device.
13. Changes to this policy
If IPT’s behaviour changes — for example, if paid sign-in or advertising is introduced — we will update this page before the change reaches you and change the effective date above. We will describe any material changes here.
